Mercury In Your Natal Chart: What’s It Got To Say?

mercuryWith the Sun, Venus and Mercury in Mercury ruled Gemini, I got to thinking…  ::smiles:: that’s a joke.

But I did get to thinking about my thinking and my pompous thought was this:

There is no end to the things I know.

That statement is textbook for a Mercury in the 9th house (inflated / expansive) but then I had this thought:

There is also no end to the things I do not know.

::smiles::

How’s that for Libra? Both sides, bay-bee!

Yeah, I have Mercury in Libra in the 9th house and that right there is my statement.

What does your Mercury have to say about itself?

http://www.elsaelsa.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/libra.jpgThere is a perfect storm (gift) that will form in Libra in September. Venus, Mars and Mercury will hook up in the sign in September and having Mars Mercury conjunct in Libra natally, I am very focused on this.

I am going to be writing about it no doubt but for now, here is an introduction – Read Art Ofner with a sign by sign treatment of the upcoming Mercury transit through Libra…

Ofner writes:

“Mercury, the thinker and communicator of the zodiac, enters Libra, the sign of human relationships and togetherness, on August 28, where it remains until November 4, 2008. It is in retrograde motion from September 24 to October 15.

With Mercury in Libra, you’ll receive social invitations and experience unexpected meetings where you’ll encounter new people and enjoy pleasant conversations…”

Mercury In Libra And The Art Of Being Boring

Most know I have Mars conjunct Mercury in  Libra. I rarely think of these planets independently but as Saturn wraps up it transit in Mercury’s sign, Virgo, I realized I have become very adept at being socially boring.

The is a real feat, not necessarily because I am not boring but because my double Aquarian mother said it was a sin to bore people which is something that struck me.  I’ve believed that most my life but see now… finally that there are occasions (lots of them) when a person should just plain be discreet.

How Readily Can You Imagine Another Person’s Reality And/Or See Their Side?

Driving my husband to work this morning, he asked if I saw the look on my son’s friend, Quirky Aquarian’s face when, Vid asked him a question with an obvious answer. The answer was only obvious if you were, Quirky though.  Quirky is Mexican and the question was along the lines of, have you ever eaten a tamale?

“He looked at him like, are you kidding me?”

bias
bi·as [bahy-uhs}
noun (plural bi·as·es or bi·as·ses)
Definition:
1. preference: an unfair preference for or dislike of something

With Saturn transiting my natal Mercury in Libra, I have begun to define my bias.  With Mercury in Libra, I have a fair mind. I can readily see another person’s view of things but this I still have personal bias and I am finding great value in being upfront about it.

HawkeyeLibra likes balance. Capricorn likes control. Both are cardinal, signs which are known to be controlling. Mercury rules communications. I remember watching an episode of M*A*S*H* where Hawkeye and B.J. squared off, each needing the last word. I remember thinking, “Hey, that’s me!

Mercury enters Libra: September 9, 2013

Mercury leaves Virgo for Libra on September 9th.  While Mercury functions well in it’s home sign, I like it Libra as well.

Having Mercury in Libra in my natal chart, I may be biased to an extent.  I’ll still make my case on this!

Mercury functions well in all the Air signs.

Mercury in Libra makes it easier to communicate with others for several reasons. It’s able understand another person’s ideas and it tends to be polite. My natal Mercury is harmed by Mars, so I am talking in generalities here, rather than about myself and my own style.

libra decanter vintageFaction: a group or clique within a larger group, party, government, organization, or the like.

from Dictionary.com

Years ago, my husband predicted the United States would become factionalized. We’re well on our way and the internet is already there.

This makes it exceedingly difficult to blog to a diverse audience….which is all I care to do.  For example, current events are completely out as far as topics go. The reason is because there is no “common knowledge” and I’ll give you an example.(...)
